We will either find a way or make one.....

“I do not think that there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.” -John D. Rockefeller

Perseverance and passion are two congruent traits that one must posses in order to take on the world of business.  Take it from me, as a young immigrant turned Entrepreneur, my blood flows with passion as I hate to lose.  Whether it is in life, love, or business, I have grown to become a better man by accepting defeat as a way of life.  On the contrary, I have trained my soul to turn defeat and failure into fuel.  Time and time again I am faced with exigent news, from family members battling cancer, to clients losing their shirts, and even matters of the heart. I too bleed when cut.  Now in the war we call life, I have learned to compound my drive and anger into fuel that ignites my inner jets of perseverance.  As the old saying states, “It is not how hard you fall, but how high you bounce back.”

Furthermore, I have decided to try something new in this posting.   I have provided the following interesting fun facts from John D. Rockefeller below. I like to thank my partner and dear colleague Deji for the research.

For those whom have never heard of such a great man, he revolutionized the oil industry and became Americas first Billionaire. He is also known as the richest man in history.

Here are ten fascinating facts on this philanthropic business icon.

1. His father always treated him unfairly when it came to money to test and strengthen his business and life acumen.

2. From an early age he kept a notebook of his personal finance, keeping track of every expenditure however large or small.

When he was young a Baptist preacher once encouraged him to make as much money as he could then give away as much as he could.

3. childhood goals were to make 100,000 dollars and live to be 100. (He made far more than that financial goal and died at 97 years old).

4. He got his first job at the age of sixteen, working for a company called ‘Hewitt & Tuttle’ as an assistant bookkeeper earning 50 cents a day.

5. He was a philanthropist before he was rich. He always gave money to people on the streets and a portion of his earnings to his church.

6.He first became involved in the oil industry aged 24.

7. By 25 he owned one of the largest refineries in the world.

8. He paid for a slave’s freedom in times of racial prejudice.

9. He believed through good deeds you would go to heaven. (The more good deeds, the more you please God).

10. He believed his calling was to make money, he believed it was a God given gift and his destiny to create wealth. (He was known for constantly saying he was doing God’s work).

Bonus fact. At the age 38 he controlled 90% of the oil developed in the United States.

In conclusion, I want all of you to make an impact in this world.  You have my word, that I will do my best to give you the motivational arsenal that you need to keep on fighting, when all others are scaring like ants. Carpe Diem Fam!
