"Every man is proud of what he does well; and no man is proud of what he does not do well. With the former, his heart is in his work; and he will do twice as much of it with less fatigue. The latter performs a little imperfectly, looks at it in disgust, turns from it, and imagines himself exceedingly tired. The little he has done, comes to nothing, for want of finishing."-Abraham Lincoln
Without passion a man is nothing more than a dormant force and possibility, like the flint which awaits the shock of the iron before it can give a spark. Passion equates to energy, and without energy, we have nothing!
As time takes its course, and this young lad turns into a man. I cannot help but to reiterate the fact that this life is not easy. Most of the motivational gurus out their will try to proclaim that life itself is a walk in the park. Well for this young immigrant trying to make it in a world amongst wolves, it is a constant battle. From business, to pushing my body and mind to the limits, and even matters of the heart. There is one constant attribute that has enabled me to consistently achieve and overcome every milestone set . That attribute happens to be the inner self belief that I WILL NOT GIVE UP!
Which leads me to the following quote on work ethic, which looks to uninterested spectators like insanity that we can accomplish anything worth the achievement. Work is the keystone of a perfect life. Work and trust in God." -Woodrow Wilson
Through the years I have been blessed to surround myself with colleagues whom have the same relentless attitude towards the mission at hand. These men and woman, whom I consider my family, have inspired me to keep on keeping on. To those select few whom are reading this, THANK YOU FOR THE MANY YEARS OF INSPIRATION AND SUPPORT!
On the contrary, I can’t imagine a person becoming a success who doesn’t give this game of life everything he’s got! Therefore it is only by working with an energy which is almost superhuman that will enable you to achieve your desired results. Time and time again, I have personally been under the gun. After a while the duress that we call, “PRESSURE”, becomes a way of life.
Furthermore, the heart and the spirit are two congruent elements that must be mastered in order for one to reach ultimate bliss. As one should have no confusion in mind and should never be lazy at any moment of the day. In the cut throat world of life, love, and in business, one must practice a broad spectrum of several arts. It is only when one can become reliant on themselves, that they will be able to harness the gift of leading others.
In conclusion, this piece might have been a little to confounding for most. As it incorporates several eastern and western philosophies into one. So I will end this with the following statement;
“My way of teaching the arts is to take a man who is the beginner in the Way; have him learn according to those skills that he may develop will; teach him principles that he will quickly understand first; see through the places where his mind may be suitable for matters not easily understood; and gradually, gradually, teach him the deeper principles later. Observing the strength of knowledge of the person studying the Way, I teach him what is correct, have him discard the failings of the various other styles of the arts and direct him naturally into the True Way of the practices of a warrior with no doubts in his mind. This is my way of teaching the arts. You should practice this thoroughly.” –Miyomato Musashi
