An entrepreneur in today’s environment...

“Forget foundationless traditions, forget “moral” standards may have tried to cram down your throat, forget the beliefs people may have tried to intimidate you into accepting as “right.” – Robert J. Ringer

To the context that most subdue to the norms and values that society has imposed on them, the world of an entrepreneur is not so prevalent to the standard.  As the mindset of one that is constantly testing the boundaries of society, in business and in life, needs no justification.

The framework above tests several schools of psychological thought, as it combusts with the “Egoism” argument.  So to end the condition of what is good for ones survival and personal happiness is moral… let’s throw the term “Ceteris Paribus” into the equation.

An entrepreneur in today’s environment needs to constantly adapt to the ever-changing dynamics that our government, society, business trends, family, significant others, ect, ect… throws at you.  Which means, that you need to ingrain an, “Adapt & Overcome” mentality to all the variables that are barraged upon you.  So stop complaining, and act in a fluid manner to your internal and external environment.

In addition, if your goals and dreams are set above the norm, you must make the self commitment and sacrifice to do whatever you have to do in your power to get across the finish line.  Not from a context of hurting those and our environment, but who am I to judge.

You need to act in a narcissistic manner, love yourself first, and act selfish.  Overtime, your selfish mentality will create an abundant world where those whom you love will enjoy.  So maximize your “pain”, in order to achieve your “pleasure”.  Put in those hours, and gain as much tacit and explicit knowledge to master your craft.  This is the moral context for which an entrepreneur needs to live.  This is my story, and I’m sticking to it.  Vereour Nusquam

The more you sweat in times of peace, the less you bleed in times of war...

In a world full of chaos and duress, it is estimated that only 10% of animals are true predators. Lions and tigers and such, hunting other animals for survival.  Now if we extrapolate this to humans, that means 10% of us are predators, and the rest among us…..are prey.    This is a very intriguing concept to think about...

Which leads me to my next memoir,
“Excuses are what you give when you got nothing, because you didn’t try everything!”

Through the years, I have been blessed to be mentored by some very notable men and woman, whom I consider to be renowned in their fields.  Amongst their many preachings, beatings, and epilogues, one of the many correlations noted, happens to be on the execution of patience and practice.  As it is said that, “The more you sweat in times of peace, the less you bleed in times of war!”

From a Hard Core Philosophy perspective, One must take the time to master oneself, before he/she can even have the privilege to lead others.  There is an old Eastern Philosophy Mindset that concentrates on the art of penetrating and execution, known as Gancui. This simple art concentrates on the discipline of penetrating neatly and completely.

As there is an old story told by Dr. Lung of a man that was so determined to kill his enemy, that he first practiced thrusting his sword into the wall of his home for almost a decade, practicing his thrust, until he knew his arm and mind were firm enough to do the deed upon battle.  Until one day, after many years of practicing on the wall, his arm and most importantly mind were congruent.   Than the time came upon battle, when the two met eye to eye.  Upon the dual, and with one single strike, the power emitted by the single thrust transcended through the sword and cut through the enemy like a hot knife through butter.  This is the way of the Gancui, the art of execution through practice and patience.

Furthermore, I will end this Hard Core Philosophy perspective with a more serene conclusion.  As the brain always chooses the easiest and quickest path to rationalize on life. One must take note that sometimes the easiest and quickest path is not the felicitous way to go.  In the end, all victory depends on the skill of the single warrior, yourself!  So take the time to master your crafts, before your crafts, and most importantly enemies, master you!

Ie…check yourself..before your wreck yourself!! , its like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder why we keep from going under. Hahahahaha

F@*# self-doubt...

“F@*# self-doubt. I despise it. I hold it in contempt, along with the hell-spawned ooze-pit of Resistance from which it crawled. I will NEVER back off. I will NEVER give the work anything less than 100%. If I go down in flames, so be it. I’ll be back.” -Steven Pressfield

5 Reasons You Need to Meet in Person...

An excerpt from Inc.com (Source).

What can you learn from an in-person meeting that you can’t from a virtual one?

1. You're off the record.  In Silicon Valley and many other places, there are few private offices. Many of my clients work in cubes and can’t have private telephone conversations with me or anyone else. This means that when I talk to them on the phone, I might not get to hear the most important information they can share: the unique team dynamics or executive’s personality quirks that would make or break our ability to match an expert consultant. Over sushi or a latte or a walk around the block, my clients can let me know more -- with more color -- than they can over the telephone or in an email.

2. Make use of not-so-small talk.  Most business conversations are focused on solving a problem quickly and efficiently, while business relationships are built when people take the time to share and learn more about each other. That happens more naturally in person than over the phone or in an email. What cements a bond between people? Small talk about a favorite team, passion for pecan pie, parenting challenges, and the other bits and pieces that make us unique and interesting.

3. Make an impression. I bought a new handbag. It’s faux ostrich and it’s pink. Really pink. I’ve received compliments on it from every woman (and one man) I’ve met with in the past two weeks. I had worried it was perhaps not professional enough for business. But the style and color were bold, “spring-y” and made me smile. Who knew my $60 knock-off handbag would be such a great conversation starter and deliver such a strong personal statement? How do you do that over Skype?

4. Read the body language. Facial expressions often communicate so much more than words. We host consultant coffees and invite a handful of independent consultants to our office in order to better understand the nuances of each professional in a relaxed setting. We need to know what isn’t on the resume that makes each person unique. In their eyes and in their body language, we can see confidence, empathy, fear, friendliness or sincerity. That ability to “read” a candidate beyond their keywords is a huge competitive advantage for us.

5. Learn where the action is. I find out so much when I visit one of my clients in their office. Is the lobby bright and inviting with recent accolades proudly displayed? Do employees seem happy? Is there free juice and healthy snacks in the cafeteria? Brand new Herman Miller chairs in the conference room? Is everyone moving in slow motion or is there a palpable buzz? The environment speaks volumes and may factor into your business proposal or plan. By understanding company dynamics, we can communicate more effectively to meet their needs.
